LUSH review -Schnuggle

Schnuggle

Price: £7.50

Product category: Body Butter (retro)

Description: ‘Sleep inducing body butter for bedtime’ (LUSH). This is about the same size as The Soft Touch, Buffy and Running to the Embassy and is white in colour. The sent is so relaxing and comforting. Think lavender, sandalwood, ginger and chamomile with a very subtle hint of jasmine. This product contains absorbent powders and cocoa butter, which is designed to superbly moisturise your skin without it feeling greasy. Ok so for the ingredients; kaolin cleanses and exfoliates the skin; lavender is great for skin complaints and of course for relaxing the mind and inducing sleep; sandalwood sooths and softens the skin and is known for its antidepressant, astringent and antiseptic properties; jasmine is great for muscular and skin complaints and stress related illnesses and finally chamomile has calming and soothing properties for both the skin and the mind.

How to use: This product is design for use in both the shower and bath. The best way I’ve found to use this is on wet/damp skin. Make sure you don’t submerge the bar as it will melt very quickly. I’ve found it best to either step out from under the shower, or stand up in the bath and rub the bar all over your wet skin. Rinse if you wish then dry off. I wouldn’t recommend using this on dry skin, as it doesn’t glide as other body butters do due to the absorbent powders, and drags on the skin.

The verdict: This is by far my favourite relaxing treat. It leaves your skin beautifully soft and silky and it really does relax and comfort you. This certainly helps me get off to sleep at night so I’d recommend using this just before bed. You’ll be left feeling like someone’s has wrapped their arms around you and given you the best schnuggle ever. A must have product for everyone after a long day at work, stress, hectic life styles and insomniacs.

Use with; Dreamtime temple balm/ bath melt, Twilight, Waving not Drowning, Comforter (strange but works), Playdoze or French Kiss for the ultimate bedtime relaxation.

  1. The first Schunggle I had I used it on dry skin. It does melt if you rub it in your hands long enough - ( or what I tend to do is put it under my arm pit or boob where it is really warm for a minute!!) and I have used it on both my kids to help them sleep at night. But it does work better used on wet skin for sure.
I love schnuggle and the smell is gorgeous xxx

  2. I can live with out my Schnuggle lol. I don't get many cuddles but always feel like i've had one when i've used this product :) Yeh you can use it on dry skin, but its much easier in my opinion on wet. Didn't want people to be under the impression that you can use it like the Soft Touch then be disapointed when they come to using it x

  3. This is the only bodybutter I've not tried for some reason but I definitely will now as lavender might help me sleep. Also The Soft Touch & King Of Skins (which I love) can leave skin quite oily which isn't always good on the sheets so the absorbent properties of Schnuggle should be good.
Can't get yet due to too many recent Lush purchases;DOTD,Christmas presies & forum perfume!! but will put on my Christmas wish list:)
    Thanks xxx

  4. Update. Now have Schnuggle & tried it for the first time last night. Was still awake in the early hrs due to my meds, so had a 2a.m. bath with So White & Magic Mushroom. Decided to use it on almost dry skin as wanted to get all comfy in bed. Wow-I know exactly what you mean about feeling like you've had a lovely cuddle,Sarah! I was thinking the self same thing as I smothered it on. Hubby was fast asleep. snoring away beside me & it would be a bit unreasonable to have woken him at 4 (long bath!) but I got a Schnuggle cuddle instead. Could def smell the lavender although not too overpowering which is a plus as I don't want overpowering right before sleep. Loved the consistency-oily at 1st, then a very clever, dry oil type effect. Great to have moisturised skin but no oil slick on the sheets. I do love King of Skins for wet skin & Buffy as an in shower moisturiser but this is definitely going to be my new 'fresh from the bath, right before bed' moisturiser. ( am I just inventing new categories now so I can justify even more Lush teehee!) Anyway, big thumbs up & thankyou for the recommendation, Sarah xxxxx
